Villa Alskog welcomes photographers, stylists, and creatives seeking authentic environments with soul, year-round. A Gotland rectory where light tells stories, both indoors in the bright rooms and outdoors in the garden with views over fields and sunsets.
Here, light moves freely between the rooms, from the classic country kitchen to the personally decorated hotel rooms, through large windows that frame sky and landscape. Outside, limestone walls, a pool area, and vast fields await. A place where both interiors and exteriors create timeless backdrops for photography and film.
Light & Rooms
Each room has its own character. Large windows let in natural light – the living room bathes in light from three directions, the different hotel rooms each have their own color scheme, and the large halls provide space for both intimate and spacious compositions. The walls carry soft hues, the furniture consists of hand-picked antiques, and the materials are natural.
Throughout the day, the light changes slowly – from the cool glow of morning to the warm radiance of afternoon. This makes Villa Alskog a place for photography with feeling and presence.
Indoors – Classic Country Kitchen and Timeless Interiors
The classic country kitchen with its generous work surfaces, the large halls with high ceilings, and the personally decorated hotel rooms provide varying backdrops for different expressions. The limestone house breathes history, and the interiors are thoughtfully furnished with a focus on natural materials and soft tones.
Outdoors – Garden, Pool Area, and Scenic Gotland Landscapes
The old rectory is nestled among fields, with views toward the sky and the sea beyond. The garden offers different environments – from limestone walls and flowering beds to the pool area with views over fields and beautiful sunsets.
Five minutes away lies Ljugarn with its sea stack formations by the ocean, and nearby you'll find Närsholmen and sheep pastures that provide scenic Gotland backdrops. Visby is 40 minutes away. Here there's space for editorial shoots, product photography, or small film productions seeking a tranquil expression.
Accommodation for Productions
Villa Alskog is not just a place to photograph – it's also a place to stay. Our five personally decorated rooms, including family suites and a mini suite, can be booked for production teams who want to work and stay in the same location. You have complete freedom to organize your day as you wish, and the pool and garden are available for relaxation after the day's work.
Many teams choose to rent the entire house for several days – a secure, inspiring, and efficient setup that provides time to work at a calm pace and enjoy the location.
Practical Information
Villa Alskog is located five minutes from Ljugarn on Gotland. Parking with three EV chargers is directly connected to the house, and loading is easy at the entrance. For larger productions, accommodation can be arranged by agreement.
