About Villa Alskog
Villa Alskog is an old limestone rectory, built in 1836, in the middle of Gotland's farmland. Here you rent the whole house, with the garden and the pool, entirely to yourselves – whether you're gathering for a holiday, a wedding, a retreat or a conference.
Our story
Gotland has been our anchor for a long time. In 2009, a month after we became a couple, we bought our first summer cottage on the island. It was the place we kept coming back to through many intense years of work, travel and a spell in New York. We also got married here, in the garden of the summer cottage in Stånga, overlooking the fields.
In 2021 we took the leap. We left the Stockholm start-up life and moved here permanently with our three children to create something of our own. The rectory in Alskog became that project.
A house to take care of
Since then we've renovated bit by bit, with local craftspeople and timber from the nearby sawmill. Much of the interior is reclaimed, and the sheepskins come from the lamb farmers in Alskog. A house built to stand for centuries deserves to be cared for in the same way.
